Music Hall Discover Series
We're doing something a bit different on Friday 22nd June. Indonesian Gamelan group Jimbot and friends are coming to play as part of a tour sponsored by the Indonesian cultural institute. Tickets are free (advance booking required)
Iman Jimbot and his team of passionate musicians and artists will visit the United Kingdom on 15-30 June 2018 to perform and collaborate with UK artists; amusing the audience with a rich Sundanese culture that will be exhibited in an interactive approach in various venues in the UK. An instrument workshop activity will also be arranged at the Indonesian Embassy in London.
Not only performing the Sundanese music, the traditional Indonesian melody is also mixed integrally with various genre from rock to pop to DJ and metal.
Jimbot was born and raised in a simple family in West Java, Indonesia. He grew up in a traditional Sundanese environment that has a deep root on culture. His growing passion and love for music eventually leads him to become a musician who is actively exploring and experimenting the Sundanese traditional music with a contemporary nuance.
His distinct expertise opens various international opportunities for him to perform in Europe, Australia and Asia. He was involved in numerous art projects internationally and collaborates frequently with many musicians from around the world.
